Wya to go! Just like with companies, a brand should start with authenticity. Otherwise if the brand promise you are making does not align with the brand reality, you have what I call in my upcoming book a "brand identity crisis." Brand is not about logos or colors or fonts alone - it's about delivering a promise to customers (or employers or colleagues....) and then walking your talk. Thanks Rebecca!

Rebecca, your writing is thought provoking and always hits the right note with me!

I am sure everyone out there who earnestly wants to 'be who they really are' in all situations in life, find it a struggle to adhere to that motto every time and in every situation in life and with every separate set of people we know. It is a constant image management struggle personally, between appearing like I conform and coming across as someone who has a strong opinion about things (which is being 'me' !).

This conflict amplified for me since I moved to the US less than a year ago from India. And the problem with living in a different culture at age 26, when you more or less know who you are, is that it's such a huge challenge to be able to make a personal connection with someone without having to oppose your personal beliefs and approach to people and life.

I hope I hit the right note soon :-)
