I agree that women do not need families for fulfillment, though it is hard for them to realize that as they get a lot of pressure from society.
Well, maybe it is not easy to get married for accomplished women 32+ but is it better to get married early and not to fulfill your potential, seve someone who might even abandon… and then it’s a problem with no good job and children to feed…

… and it’s amazing … so many angry men here:) … probably afraid that they are not so competitive on a job market and in personal life:)

Wow! all I can say after reading this is move over God. I am glad I am 68 and am way out in front of these self-adoring narcaistic females that appear to me to have so much love for themselves that they will have very little left for anyone else. I especialy took note of this quote from above,” Women don’t need men or children for fulfillment. This one scares me a little because this clearly indicates that generation Y girls embrace the natural superiority of females doctrine.

They must be blocked from ever ruling the world. The greatest crimes aganist society have been committed by people who think they are superior aganist people they feel are inferior. Already there is technology to enable sperm to be created from bonemarrow. This will give women the ability to procreate without men! Then they have already indicated they don’t need men so the decission will be made by these superior, self-adoring women to not alow any males to be born. When people feel they are superior they will not seek equality and parrity with those they feel are inferior.SoI see the rise of generation y girls as a threath to the survival of all things males.

This is one of the most self-righteous, one-side and arrogant feministic texts I have seen in a long time.

Claiming for yourself to know everything and to combine in perfect harmony all the best parts of men and women to an almost super being far superior to all men and as well to women of other generations.

Is this supposed to be a display of you superior emotional intelligence? This reminds me of some of the self-righteous stuff that feminist in the 70 wrote and even some of them are now sorry for it, but at least they came out of a real discriminating situation and had an excuse of acting like that.

If this text is representative for the Generation Y women then we know what we have to expect from them and it s nothing good. But arrogant and self-righteous describes a lot of my experiences with Generation Y women.

And if I am looking at the discrimination of boys and men in all ways of life today I do not see that things are getting better with the younger generations.
It starts in kindergarten and pre-school where boys are permanently punished by female teachers for not being (like) girls. It goes one with the selective support programs that support girls/woman only. For support programs for boys – who would need it more urgently in a world of “female values” – is no money.

In later life there is political pressure to put more females in high position or in some places there are even quotes. And this even thought only a very small percentage of woman actually want to do this kind of 60-80h a week jobs.

And if it would be so that woman would do the same job for less, it would be very easy to improve profitably of a company: just replacing all the men with woman. But why is nobody doing this and why men are still hired? Because it is not true that woman do the same job for less.
The reason that woman in average earn less than man is that a hairdressers earns less then channel digger, and a social worker earns less than a Mechanical Engineering. But they do not get less for the same work.

And why do men go for harder and better pay jobs: Because they do not choose jobs by what would be nice to do and be a fulfillment. This is as well a luxury only women have. They choose by what makes money to buy a diamante ring for a woman and to be able to pay her shoes and her makeup and to support the children. And as thank you for doing a 10 h job and paying for everything and doing the lawn she will for sure complain that he is then not having a another 6 house to take care of the kids and do the household.

And yes, woman can choose if they want to work or stay with the kids. Another luxury men do not have! They just know they will have to work. And even if the woman runs off with the kids (because she will get custody, no matter what) he will still be the one working and paying for it.

But as men know that they need some money to get and hold a woman and that they do not have a way out by becoming pregnant they will always be more committed to their work and work harder than women.

And yes, woman use their emotions very successfully: by crying, nagging and lamenting about their “oh so bad life” and the “oh so bad man”. Successfully enslaving man by emotional manipulation and causing a bad conscious. And if this does not help blackmail and sexual deprivation in combination with a sovereign power on what is emotionally and sexual right will certainly work.

And yes generation guy, there are lot of disappointed women out there. But do not think that makes them think twice, as they never had to take responsibility for anything. They just do what they always did: Blamed men for it.

It seems no one here metioned EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGY, or that much about evolution in general. Women are attracted to a strong, dominant male. However women are told by the TV to BE INDEPENDANT. These are conflicting thoughts.. will she ever be happy? At this point who gives a shit. Women think that EROTIC power is real life power. Why is this? Women evolutionarily speaking only matter for reproduction purposes. The man could hunt, feed and protect himself, all he needed a woman for was to pass on his genes.. what we call in Evolutionary terms as “Pair Bonding.” Women dont like “nice guys” or guys that they can run all over. Brad Pitt, Vin Diesel are good examples of Alpha Males, being in control with their tonality and body language. I could write an entire book on this stuff. We are classified as animals. A male lion lays around all day and his ten females hunt for him, he shits and eats and occassionally fights to keep the females and pass on his genes. Attractive human women are with goofy looking guys all the time but you never really see a HIGH value guy with a low value girl. Evolutionarily speaking men looked for women for waist to hip ratio, facial symettry, larger tits and a big pair of lips to show fertility. Women liked mens larger muscles because it showed dominance and an ability to hunt but the alpha male wasnt always the smartest or strongest but best able to adapt… kind of like the billionare fat ass that can have nearly any woman he wants on a given day, and hire ten huge muscle head body gaurds to protect him, and ten geeks to invest his money. You think the times have changed? Nope. Men are still ready to pass on their genes, have sex at the drop of a hat, women still hold off. Study was done, average lesbian has less then ten partners, average homosexual has more then 100. Another study, very attractive female walked around a college campus… asked men to sleep with her. EVERY GUY said yes, extreme case no when married. The study then took a VERY attractive male, he asked a ton of females the same question. ALL SAID NO. See the difference in our brain circutry? Dont take my word for it, research EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGY or BIOLOGY or even look to the animal kingdom for yourself. A woman simply isnt happy being in charge. I could go on here for hours but plain and simple men are the dominant race, get over it, clean the house, cook the food, take care of the kids, know your role. Its other MEN in the police force that are allowing some women to run rampant, cheat and hit men, spit on them, talk them down… if men were not here to protect women, some OTHER men would be very pissed off and showing women how dominant and in control they are not.

There may be too many components to this conversation for there to be a satisfying conclusion for everyone. We’re living in different areas with vastly varied experiences and understandings. On top of that, we are bound to make grand generalizations because we’re categorizing people on a sliding scale of time.

With all that being said, I do think people have done an excellent job in this discussion communicating their own views and experiences. Hopefully we’ve heard one another. Hopefully each of us can continue to think about these thoughts and become more supportive and understanding members of society; relating across and within our generation(s), relating to our own or the opposite sex, relating to others’ theories, relating to others’ hopes and aspirations, and understanding that we’re all different. I tend to think that we all have more in common than we’d like to admit in that we’d like to try things differently and do things in our “own” way.

Even people that seem to fall more easily into one category probably aim(ed) to make each choice as it felt right to him/her.

This post is an impressive argument. However, it includes some fabricated characterizations of the Generation-Y woman…

This does not apply to every young woman (possibly including the post’s author, Rebecca), but the majority of gen-y women LACK empathy and compassion for others, quite evident in how they stress the importance for THEIR accommodations, and THEIR comfort, rather than equally accommodating everyone’s needs. This also contradicts the passage, “We acknowledge our own complexities,” which, by the way, according to studies conducted on understanding Generation Y, that’s not the case anyway… Commonly, after failing at a task, Gen-Yer’s believe they still did a good job (obviously refusing to acknowledge any sense of weakness, which I would classify as a complexity).

And for your amusement (ah, what the hell…) here’s another statistic: 67% of Gen-Y scored ABOVE AVERAGE on a test that measures narcissism… Well, I guess there’s now a new average, being that typically “above average” should only indicate a minority of a population.

So much for that “compassionate alpha” conecpt amongst Gen-Y women. Romantic, but mostly unrealistic (just like a female’s favorite movie).
