Nice podcast! I agree with many of your statements since I manage a group of Project Mangers that includes people from each group (X, Y and boomers). The main part that hit home is trying to get the boomers to let some of the x and y into that upper levels of their organization.

I look forward to watch you and MAGNET grow over the next year!

Rebecca,

The podcast was great. The women interviewing you were a hoot! You sounded very smart and professional. Very impressive!

That was a good interview Rebecca. Magnet sounds like a great organization. You did a good job of representing Gen Y and your organization.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Andrew - Thanks so much! Thanks for sharing your story as well. I love the word agile. You make good observations regarding our loyalty, and you're right that this trend is spreading throughout the workforce. Now, the interesting bit will be what happens if a recession hits!

Great podcast! When you said that Gen Y folks will probably have 8-9 jobs before 30 I was thinking that it is as much of a statement about the current job market as it is Gen Y.

The Boomers had a loyalty to their companies because they knew that their companies would be loyal to them. These days you can't expect to work for 40 years and get social security and a pension. Being a Gen Y I learned this right away with my first job. I worked loyally for 2.5 years before I got laid off because the company decided to eliminate my department.

We need to stay current and agile in order to survive, and that requires us to jump from job to job. It's not because we're not loyal.

@ t h rive - Fair enough. In my defense, besides being nervous, I would just be about to say something great and they would give they signal to wrap it up. So then I would talk really fast to get the rest of my point in... ;) Well, when you know better you do better!
