Not keeping in touch is different than yelling at your boss and other coworkers and telling them that they were the worst ever, when you get laid off. You can still not be in touch with your old ex colleagues but can do it in a manner which does not give people who do not know about your situation a chance to judge you.... and down the line form negative opinions about you. I have learnt in a long time that telling people that they are a piece of shit really does not change them by any means. At best it will make them feel bad for a second, but they will proceed to justify their behavior and actions and remain just the same I quite agree with this article.
